APSTA participates in UN Military Unit Manuals (UNMUM) Regional Implementation Seminar

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of APSTA, Brig Gen. Daniel Kwadjo Frimpong (Rtd) participated in the three day workshop on implementation of the UN Military Unit Manuals (UNMUM) and their associated training as well as lessons plans, held at the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS), Karen, Kenya, 5-7 September 2017.

The workshop, which was facilitated and executed by USAFRICOM and UNDPKO respectively, built on the recent Regional Seminar on United Nations Military Unit Manuals in Accra, Ghana. In addition, it aimed to develop a mechanism and timeline for the production of lesson plans and programs of instruction (POI) which implement the UNMUM, advance PKO standardization of pre-deployment unit training and doctrine to improve professionalism and operational readiness. Furthermore, the workshop targeted to support defence institution building via enhancements to professional military education curriculum and faculty /cadre training.
