Change of Appointment at the SADC Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre, Harare[Archive]On 4 April 2007, Colonel Gaudence Milanzi (Tanzania Army) was appointed the new Commandant of the SADC Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre (RPTC), Harare, for a period of two years starting from 1 April 2007. Present at the ceremony was the Director for Politics, Defence and Security Affairs of the SADC Secretariat, who represented the Executive Secretary of SADC. Colonel Milanzi took over from Colonel Joe Muzvidziwa (Zimbabwe Army). At the same time, Lieutenant Colonel Sambulo Ndlovu (Zimbabwe Army) was also appointed the new Deputy Commandant of the Centre. The change of appointment was in accordance with the decision of the SADC Ministerial Committee of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, held in Windhoek, Namibia, in June 2006, pertaining to the conditions of recruitment and terms of office for the RPTC Staff. The attention of all is drawn to the new approved title for the Head of RPTC as ‘Commandant RPTC’ instead of the old title of ‘Director RPTC.’ The new RPTC management wishes to state that it is looking forward to working closely with the APSTA Secretariat and all members, as training providers in reaching the common goals in ASF related capacity building training. On behalf of the Patron and President, the APSTA wishes to congratulate Colonel Gaudence Milanzi and Lieutenant Colonel Sambulo Ndlovu on their appointment as the new Commandant and Deputy Commandant respectively of the SADC RPTC and looks forward to continued collaboration and cooperation with the Centre, under their leadership. The APSTA also expresses its warmest compliments to Colonel Joe Muzvidziwa and wishes him well in his new appointment. |
