23 Apr 08: Change of Appointments at the National Defence College of Nigeria (NDCN)

[Archive]

Rear Admiral AAM Isa, the Commandant of the National Defence College of Nigeria (NDCN), previously the National War College of Nigeria (NWCN), has left the College for another post. In his capacity as the Commandant of the NDCN, Admiral Isa assumed the Presidency of the APSTA in 2005. Admiral Isa is relieved by Rear Admiral GJ Jonah, who is returning to the College, having served previously both as a Directing Staff and Director, Analytical Research and Studies (DARAS) at the NWCN.

At the same time Major General Lawrence P Ngubane returned to the College as the new Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies. It is to be recalled that Major General Ngubane, then a Brigadier General, served as a DS and Director Higher Military Organisation (DHMO). During that period, he also served as Military Chair of the IAPTC. Major General Ngubane takes over from Major General Jos Oshanupin, who was the Acting Commandant for a brief period.

On behalf of the membership of the APSTA, the Secretariat would like to bid Admiral Isa a hearty farewell and extend a warm welcome to the new Commandant and his Deputy.

Currently the NDCN in Abuja serves as the Presidency of the Association on a rotational basis, while the ISS in Pretoria serves as the permanent Secretariat.
